Membership in either the NNEC or SNEC is open to anyone with an interest in Industrial Archaeology. The Chapters are non-profit organizations operated entirely by volunteers. Members are urged to participate in chapter activities and help spread the word about the mission of Industrial Archaeology in New England.

Although strongly encouraged, concurrent membership in the National SIA is not required.
